Wild Woods Farm is a sustainable vegetable farm utilizing organic practices to produce local vegetables for Iowa City and the surrounding area. Wild Woods seeks to cultivate produce that tastes good, has a story & promotes community.
CSA members receive a box of vegetables weekly during the season at a the farm on Thursday evenings for 13 weeks of the summer. Members are welcome to tour the farm, learn where their food comes from, and even to work a bit in the field on volunteer days if they desire. In addition to growing tasty, ethically raised food, we seek ways to create community through the farm and among the CSA members.

Our CSA operates with a buffet-style pickup. You get to walk through the line and pick your veggies. Each summer the exact mix each week is slightly different because of weather variation. Early summer starts with our fresh lettuce and spring crops like radishes and spinach, mid-summer moves into hardier veggies like cabbage and zucchini, and late summer is filled with an overabundance of tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, potatoes, onions, and more.
A few weeks into the summer, we add our bulk veggies. These truly are an opportunity to get the most out of your CSA share. When we put something in bulk, it is an abundant item on the farm and we want you to enjoy it as much as you can!
If you are not sure how to use a particular vegetable, let's chat! There are so many fun ways to use local produce. In the last 15 years of growing, I’ve learned a ton of fun and quick cooking methods. We also love it when you share your favorite ways to use veggies.
We know pickup is around dinner time, so bring a picnic and make an activity out of it! We would love to see our farm yard filled with folks having a moment to slow down each week and enjoy nature. Feel free to hang out during pickup. We want to connect with you and share with you the many benefits of slowing down outside.
For those of you with kids, we have a kids area and encourage you to bring your children to play during the pickup.
